Comic Book Studio Day
Saturday, April 8, 2017, 9 am – 3:30 pm
In partnership with the Gem City Comic Convention, Rosewood presents a full day of workshops in writing and illustration, as well as artist presentations. Learn to write and illustrate like the pros, talk to comic book experts, and enjoy free live demos! The workshops are a la carte – sign up for as many as you like. Separate workshops are offered for ages 10 – 16 and ages 16+.
Register for all three workshops by March 31 and receive two free tickets (a $20 value) to the Gem City Comic Convention, which takes place April 1 – 2 at the Dayton Convention Center.

Art on the Playground

Rosewood Arts Centre proudly presents the award-winning Art on the Playground, an interactive art festival for kids of all ages. Art on the Playground takes place rain or shine at the Habitat Environmental Center in Kettering, OH. The event is FREE and all are welcome!
Fun for all ages, Art on the Playground features a range of hands-on, make-and-take art activities. From ceramics demonstrations to creating your own beaded jewelry, our youth-oriented artists will help kids make their very own masterpieces to take home!

One of the most popular Dayton-area art festivals returns this August for its 29th year! Rosewood Arts Centre presents Art on the Commons at Kettering’s Lincoln Park Civic Commons on Sunday, August 13th. Each year, Art on the Commons features fine arts and crafts by 100 talented artists from around the country. Works for display and sale include a juried selection of jewelry, ceramics, paintings, photography, watercolor, sculpture, glass, fibers and wood creations. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day and concessions are available.

SuburbiCon: A Comic Creator Expo
In addition to a great lineup of creators, SuburbiCon offers several free art activities for all ages, including the Mega-Big Comic Page, cape and mask making, a fan art contest and more.
The Comic Swap is also back for 2016 – bring those unwanted comics to trade with others (no sales allowed, trades only). A great way to refresh your comic stash without spending a dime! Door prizes for the first 25 attendees.
A Rosewood Holiday Arts Festival
Saturday, December 3, 2016, 11 am – 3 pm
Featuring artists, demonstrations, art activities, theater and dance performances and art exhibitions, there is something for everyone. Shop for handmade gifts or create your own. All ages are welcome, and admission is free with refreshments and artwork for purchase. A Rosewood Holiday takes place every December throughout the entire Rosewood facility.
