PlayKettering is proud to present a wide variety of special events every year. Below you'll find a complete list of special events we regularly offer. Special Events

Spring

TreeFest

An Arbor Day celebration at the Habitat Environmental Center. Help give back to Planet Earth by planting trees and cleaning up the park.

Tree Love

This family-friendly event all about trees is held every April at Eudora Brewing Company. Enjoy children’s activities, hear from local arborists, watch the creation of an Arbor Day beer, visit native trees and win raffle prizes.

Kettering Community Garage Sale

Come to shop or sign up to be a vendor. Items may include anything from craft supplies, decorations, books, outdoor gear or simply anything miscellaneous. Held the last weekend of April at the Lathrem Senior Center.

Annual Youth Easter Egg Hunt

Families hunt for Easter eggs at the Lathrem Senior Center. Enjoy prizes, snacks, goodie bags, crafts and quality time together.

Underwater Easter Egg Hunt

Swim to collect Easter eggs in the Kettering Recreation Complex indoor pool.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt

An Easter egg hunt at the Kettering Recreation Complex for adults only. Participants hunt outside in the dark by flashlight and get the chance to redeem some big prizes. Music, grab bags for each participant and a photo op with the bunny himself.

Art on the Playground

A Rosewood Arts Center event held at the Habitat Environmental Center on the first Saturday in May. Free children's art activities and live performances.

Kettering Ice Arena Spring Ice Show

Figure skating performance at the Kettering Ice Arena held in early May.

Cycle Kettering Community Bike Rides

A series of community bike rides held from May through September. Cycle 10-15 miles, exploring parks, neighborhoods and shopping areas while learning safe cycling tips and socializing with other cyclists.

Summer

Touch a Truck

Interact with a wide variety of trucks, construction vehicles, public safety vehicles and more. Held outside of the Kettering Recreation Complex at the beginning of June.

Kettering Summer Flea Market

An outdoor event at the Senior Lathrem Center at the beginning of June, the same day as the Touch a Truck event. Shop garage sale finds and direct vendors, homemade food items, antiques, local businesses and more. Entertainment and food trucks round out the event.

Youth Fishing Derby

Fishing competition put on by the Habitat Environmental Center team at Delco Park. This free event is held every June.

Juneteenth in Kettering: A Celebration of Shared History

Hosts, performers, and guest speakers share a local, national and historical perspective on the importance of the Juneteenth holiday. Held at Fraze Pavilion in partnership with the Kettering Board of Community Relations.

World's Largest Swim Lesson

Children and adults will learn the importance of water safety and learning to swim. Come for the lesson then stay and enjoy Adventure Reef Water Park for the rest of the day! This event is held at the end of June at the Kettering Recreation Complex.

Go 4th!

Kettering's Fourth of July celebration at Delco Park. Enjoy food trucks, live music, games and inflatables for kids and a fireworks show at the end of the night.

Adult Road Rally Scavenger Hunt

An afternoon scavenger hunt around Kettering. Teams solve puzzles, look for landmarks and take pictures and videos to win prizes. This event is held the last week of July.

Optimist Kids Day in the Park

An old fashioned day in the park, held the first week of August at Delco Park. Multiple Optimist Clubs from the Montgomery County area are on hand to provide games for kids in grades K-8.

Art on the Commons

This fine arts and crafts festival features approximately one hundred artists from around the country. This festival is held on the second Sunday in August at Lincoln Park Civic Commons, and includes live music, top-notch artists and family-friendly interactive elements.

Fall

EcoFest

Fun and family-oriented education focused on helping the planet. Held mid-September at Lincoln Park Civic Commons.

Tot Shop Consignment Sale

Shop for children's toys and necessities. The event takes place mid-September at the Lathrem Senior Center.

Active Aging Week

A national initiative that celebrates the benefits of living an active life at any age. Various adult and senior activities are planned throughout the week such as biking, bingo, painting, line-dancing and more. First full week of October.

Wag-O-Ween

Trick-or-treating for dogs on the Walk and Wag course, photo booth ops, adoptable pet introductions and a pet costume contest. Held outdoors at the Kettering Recreation Complex.

Creepy Crawl Scavenger Hunt

Following emailed instructions sent at the beginning of October, go on a hunt around Kettering and the Greater Dayton Area to locate and learn more about creepy landmarks, buildings and graveyards. After a month-long spooky adventure, participants celebrate Halloween with us at Eudora Brewing Co. where we announce prize winners.

Winter/Holiday

Holiday Arts & Crafts Show

Takes place the second week of November at the Lathrem Senior Center. Over 100 vendors display their festive holiday decorations and handmade gift items for you to purchase.

Kettering Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting

Join the Mayor of Kettering at Lincoln Park to light the City's Christmas tree. Celebrate the kickoff of the holiday season with hot chocolate, cookies and entertainment. Early December.

A Rosewood Holiday Arts Festival

Enjoy unique handmade gifts by local artists, purchase soup bowl to support the ceramics program and take tours of Rosewood Arts Center. Early December.

A Day With(out) Art

Rosewood Arts Center partners with Visual AIDS each December to showcase films made in response to the AIDS crisis. December 1.

New Year's Eve Family Bash

Swimming, ice skating, games and open gym time at the Kettering Recreation Complex. Snacks and drinks provided. December 31.
