Improvements On The Way For Swimming Facilities

The Kettering Recreation Complex Main Pool and aquatics locker rooms are getting a new look! From September 4 through October 26, the entire pool area – including locker rooms, hallway and main pool – will be closed for a major renovation project. You’ll still be able to enjoy the spa area (hot tub, sauna and steam room) starting September 17, and the Canine Cannonball event will still take place at Adventure Reef Water Park on September 8.

Don’t worry – it’ll be worth the wait. Currently, the pool deck and the floor in the pool hallway are made from pebble-like stone flooring. The project’s major improvement will be to change the flooring on the main pool deck to brushed concrete and tile in the locker rooms and hallway.

Other improvements on the agenda include adjustments to create a more accessible facility including a new pool lift and ladders along with some minor HVAC modifications. Additionally, the high dive will be removed with plans to install a slide in 2019. Come join us for a swim this fall and check it out!
